Logan Carl Paul

Logan Carl Paul, 15, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. Luke Hospital in Cedar Rapids.  He was born on July 9, 2009, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Brenda Helmrich and Kevin Paul. He was raised in the Ryan area and was a freshman at North Linn School.

Logan was an upbeat kid who wasn’t afraid to work hard. He enjoyed driving his Ford diesel truck and playing his music as loud as he could.  Logan also enjoyed driving his four-wheeler, football, wrestling, hunting, and his PlayStation. He was able to identify a truck based on nothing but the sound it made. Logan enjoyed helping on the farm and tormenting his siblings. He had the ability to make you smile even if you didn’t want to.  Logan especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.

Survivors include his mother, Brenda Helmrich of Ryan; his siblings, Landen Helmrich and Lilly Paul; his grandparents, Patty Decker and Randy (Louise) Helmrich; maternal aunts and uncle, Michelle (Chase) Maglangit, John Grow, and September Gorsh; great-grandparents, John (Betty) Decker; and a hoard of cousins and great-aunts and uncles on his maternal side; girlfriend, Kaedence Munier and her mother, Ellie Munier; father, Kevin (Sarah) Paul of Dubuque; paternal aunts and uncles, Kim (Todd) Gassman, Kelly Paul, Kerry (Craig) Oberbroeckling, and Karen Espinoza; cousins; and many friends.

Logan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Janice Paul; and his great-grandparents, Dottie and Casey Helmrich.
