Lois Duncan, 93, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Manchester. She was born on July 7, 1927, the daughter of James and Cora (Frykberg) Mentzer. Lois graduated from high school and was a homemaker.
On February 13, 1948, Lois was united in marriage to Kenneth Duncan. Four children were born to this union. Kenneth passed away in 2013.
Lois enjoyed flower gardening, reading and church. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and studying the Bible. Lois was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Survivors include her four children, Jeffrey (Diana) Duncan, Roxie (Bill) Drees, Pamela Duncan and Steve Duncan; six grandchildren, Lisa Edaburn, Laura Reyna, David Duncan, Jim Boyd, Joe Boyd, and Spencer Duncan; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a cousin, Robert Mentzer; and two sisters-in-law, Irene Mentzer and Mildred Mentzer.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Curtis Mentzer, Loyd (Hazel) Mentzer, and James Mentzer, Jr.; and brother-in-law, Ed (Joan) Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Courageous of Monticello, Christ Community Church, or St. Croix Hospice of Strawberry Point.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are optional at the church.
