Marie Louise (Maiers) Pasker

Marie Louise Pasker, 89, of Colesburg, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, Iowa. She was born on December 13, 1934, in Luxemburg, the daughter of Alphonse “Al” and Amelia (Helle) Maiers. Marie attended country school near Twin Bridges.

On September 29, 1956, Marie was united in marriage to James “Jim” Pasker at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Colesburg. Six children were born to this union. The couple farmed together on their farm near Colesburg. Marie worked as an assembler at Ertl’s Toy Company in Dyersville for over 20 years, retiring in 1996.

Marie was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She and Jim enjoyed Polka music and dancing. Marie enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, making many flour sack towels and washcloths. She also made many quilts. Marie made the best strawberry jam and enjoyed sharing it with others. Marie loved her family and cherished spending time with them.

Survivors include her five children, Kevin (Susan) Pasker of Bicknell, Indiana, Mike (Sue) Pasker of Manchester, Julie (Scott) Thompson of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Carolyn) Pasker of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Bob (Penny Powers) Pasker of Garber; 15 grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; sister, Diane (Tom) Scherbring; brother, Wilfred (Maxine) Maiers; two sisters-in-law, Rita Maiers and Grace Pasker; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Pasker in 2020; one son, Charles Pasker in 1978; a grandson; a great-grandson; one brother, Gerald Maiers; and four sisters, Thelma (George) Burkle, Irma (Ernest) Kelchen, Grace (Dean) Tucker, and Virginia (Don) Lee.
