Marilyn Marie Corcoran, 67, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at her home. She was born on October 3, 1953, in Manchester, the daughter of Robert and Germaine (Drees) Weigel. Marilyn was raised in the Earlville area and was a 1971 graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School.
On February 2, 1980, Marilyn was united in marriage to Pat Corcoran at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Marilyn worked at People’s Natural Gas, Guetzko/ Shaw Construction, and then retired from the Regional Medical Center.
Marilyn was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a very active member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and was a Past Regent. She was also actively involved in Bible studies. Marilyn was known for her positive attitude and her one-of-a-kind laugh. She loved her family above all else.
Survivors include her two children, Kyle (Tracie) Corcoran of Urbandale and Kallie (George) Holt of Kansas City, Kansas; her 5 grandchildren, Colin, Aiden, and Ethan Corcoran, and Violet and George Holt; five siblings, Wilma (Steve) Billhorn and LuAnn McQuillen, all of Manchester, Donald “Tiny” (Deb) Weigel of Strawberry Point, LaVonne “Lovey” Guetzko of Olathe, Kansas, and Joe (Anna) Weigel of Manchester; one brother-in-law, Lance Billhorn of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Kathy Gorkow and Marjean Billhorn.
Because of COVID-19 concerns, masks are required at the funeral home and church.
