Marjorie Ann Thole, 87, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. She was born on August 8, 1937, in Monticello, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Recker) Moorman. Marjorie was raised and educated in Greeley and was a 1955 graduate of Greeley High School.
On September 17, 1955, Marjorie was united in marriage to Ernest “Ernie” Thole at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greeley. Marjorie and Ernie started farming north of Manchester and raised their two children, Mark and Teri, on the farm. Marjorie was a true farming partner with Ernie and enjoyed farm life.
Marjorie was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Marjorie and Ernie enjoyed attending all of their grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved cooking, baking, and made wonderful meals for her family every Sunday night. Marjorie loved all holidays and cherished being together with her family.
Survivors include her two children, Mark (Pati) Thole of Manchester, and Teri (Jim) Trumblee of Strawberry Point; four grandchildren, Mitch (Jacque) Thole, Mike (Amy) Thole, Lori (Matt) Dengler, and David (Taylor) Trumblee; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Joyce Jarding of Farley; brother, Jerry (Rosie) Moorman of Manchester; sisters-in-law, Norita (Darrell Lendt) Moorman of Manchester and Alice Tauke of Dyersville; brother-in-law, Ralph Wegmann of Farley; and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernie, in 2023; three brothers, Lavern (Priscilla) Moorman, Donald (Mary) Moorman, and John Moorman; two sisters, Joan (Dave) Tauke and Leona Wegmann; sister-in-law, Judy Moorman; and brother-in-law, Loras Jarding.
