Mark Lorain Waterman

Mark Lorain Waterman, 66, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. He was born on December 22, 1958, in Edgewood, the son of Verdeen and Loretta (Pugh) Waterman. Mark was raised and educated in Elkader and was a 1977 graduate of Central Community High School.

On September 1, 1990, Mark was united in marriage to Jill Chase at the Volga Methodist Church. The family resided in Strawberry Point. Mark worked for a short time at Exide Battery in Manchester. For the past nearly 30 years, he has worked at Henderson Products.

Mark liked attending car shows and mud truck racing. He enjoyed hobby farming on the Maier Family Century Farm and liked John Deere tractors. Mark loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Jill Waterman of Strawberry Point; his children, Markeia (Malcom Cobb) Waterman of Fayette, Lisa Kay (Jeremy) Brown of Carthage, Missouri, and Todd (Cathy Stahl, fiancé) Waterman of Waukon; four grandchildren, Ella and Gage Brown, and Kole and Kalyse Waterman; mother, Loretta Waterman of Mederville; sister, Lorna Waterman of Mederville; two brothers, Verdeen (Darla) Waterman of Manchester, and Steve (Vicki Sieve) Waterman of Boone; mother-in-law, Janice Chase of Volga; sister-in-law, Lori Chase of Volga; several nieces and nephews; and his two dogs, Norman and Oliver.

Mark was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Glen Waterman.
