Maynard Ernest Woellert

Maynard Ernest Woellert, 86, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. Maynard was born on December 30, 1936, on the family farm north of Manchester, the son of Fred and Martha (Moser) Woellert. Maynard attended Pleasant Hill County School and Manchester High School.

On November 17, 1957, Maynard was united in marriage to Janet Heiserman at First Congregational Church in Manchester. Two daughters were born to this union. The family farmed near Strawberry Point for several years before moving to Manchester. Over the years Maynard worked at the cheese factory, Farm Fleet, and Guetzko Construction. Maynard then worked for the Delaware County Secondary Road Department until his retirement in 1998.

Maynard was a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He especially enjoyed working in his yard and garden. Maynard cherished his family and spending time with his grandchildren was very important to him.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Janet Woellert of Manchester; two daughters, Leta (Gary) Anderson of Manchester and Vicky Robrock of Coralville; four grandchildren, Rachel (Ignacio) Sanchez, Weslie (Erin) Anderson, Sarah (Jason) Nasafi, and Adam (Shawna) Anderson; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Bernice Wendt of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, Eugene, and Ronald Woellert; and two sisters, Marian Woellert and Wilma Kelley.
