Michael John Hempstead

Michael John Hempstead, 64, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on January 27, 1961, in Manchester, the son of Charles and Jackie (Pulver) Hempstead. Mike was raised in Manchester and was a 1979 graduate of West Delaware High School. He then joined the United States Army.

In 1980, Mike was united in marriage to Nina Boots. The couple later divorced. Mike worked in construction.

Mike enjoyed western movies. He liked working on cars and watching WWE.

Survivors include his seven children, Jason (Aubrey) Boots of Earlville, Melissa (Travis) Biggs of Scottsville, Kentucky, Terry Witte of Oelwein, Jeremy Hempstead of Manchester, Samantha Hempstead and Ashley Hempstead both of Quasqueton, and Nicolas Parks of New Hampton; 22 grandchildren; his father, Charles Hempstead; and seven siblings.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, and one daughter, Jessie Hempstead.
