Monty Peter White

Monty Peter “Mont” White, 71, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at his home. He was born on January 30, 1951, in Worthington, the son of Pete and Bernadette (McNally) White. Monty was raised and educated in the Dyersville area, graduating in 1969.  Monty served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974 until he was honorably discharged.

Monty was united in marriage to Rosemary Kirby. Three children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Monty retired from John Deere after 30 years. He enjoyed farming, reading, traveling, his family and Milwaukee’s Best.

Survivors include his three children, Lisa (Scott) Stevens of North Liberty, Amanda (Cody) Leigh of Tiffin, and Doug (Angie) White of Dubuque; six grandchildren; his three brothers, Mike (Gina) White, Terry (Joyce) White and K.C. White; his three sisters, Phyllis Spahn, Dixie (Duey) Kerper and Judy (John) Jurgiel; and his significant other, Joyce Peters.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Pete (Mary T.) White and his brother-in-law, Jared Spahn.
