Norma Jean Sauerbry, 88, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. She was born on February 22, 1933, in Greeley, the daughter of Russell and Elsie (Brady) Hook. Norma was raised and educated in the Greeley area and graduated from Greeley High School.
Norma was united in marriage to Wayne Sauerbry in 1952 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Four children were born to this union. The couple resided in Greeley. Norma worked in Manchester at Lewis Systems for over 20 years. After Wayne’s death, Norma lived in Edgewood. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and family.
Survivors include her two sons, John Sauerbry of Nokomis, Florida and Brad (Judy) Sauerbry of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Lori Jacobson, Shannon (Carrie McNamara) Sauerbry, Zach Sauerbry, Cami Benschoter, Carrie Sauerbry, Jesse (Janaya) Sauerbry, and Jacob Sauerbry; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her two sisters, Kathleen (Randy) Waterman of Manchester and Barb Nurre of Elkader.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Sauerbry; her two daughters, Gayle Leeper and Karyl Sauerbry; her brother, Calvin (Garneth) Hook; a brother-in-law, Dave Nurre; and her special friend, Lawrence Moser.
