Patrick James Farmer

Patrick J. Farmer, 81, of Dundee, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at his residence.  He was born October 14, 1938, at Strawberry Point, the son of Bryan Farmer and Luella (Clinton) Farmer. Patrick graduated from Strawberry Point High School in 1956.  He farmed until he was drafted. Patrick served honorably in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963.

Patrick was united in marriage to Laura Phelps at St Mary Catholic Church in Strawberry Point. Four children were born to this union. The couple farmed north of Strawberry Point. In 2008 they retired from farming and moved to town. 

He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Patrick loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed his farming over the years, as well as reading and visiting with others.

Survivors include his wife of almost 56 years, Laura; three children, Keith Farmer of Monona, JoAnn (Ray) Bellows of Waterloo, and Kelly Farmer of Dundee; one granddaughter, Rose Bellows; one brother, Robert Farmer of Cascade; one sister, Carolyn Morrissey of Marion; and many friends and relatives.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Farmer; and three siblings, William Farmer, Jean Theel, and Evelyn Stodola.
