Patrick Jay Neppl

Patrick Jay Neppl, 67, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, at his home.  Pat was born on May 10,1954, in Estherville, the son of Melvin and Irene (Hyer) Neppl. He was raised in Estherville and was a 1972 graduate of Estherville High School. Pat attended Iowa Lake Community College and chose the agronomy field for his career.

On November 16, 1974, Pat was united in marriage to Dureen Diane Helmich in Estherville. Two daughters, Kristin Marie and Amber Diane, were born to this union. Over the years Pat worked at many elevator locations. The family moved to Manchester in 1987. The Ryan Cooperative has been one of his greatest accomplishments and pleasures. For the past seven years, Pat worked at PIECO. He always enjoyed the camaraderie that he experienced at his jobs.

Pat oozed with common sense and was very talented and gifted in many areas. He enjoyed building and repairing things, wood working, mechanics, creating, remodeling, golf, and refinishing vehicles, as well as John Deere lawn garden tractors, and John Deere lawn garden toys. Pat also indulged in Dureen’s artistic whims, was involved with church events, traveling, and helping others. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Dureen Neppl of Manchester; one daughter, Kristin Neppl of Farmers Branch, Texas; two granddaughters, Kassidy Neppl of Denton, Texas and Kaleah Carter of Iowa City; a son-in-law, Steve Carter of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six brothers, Larry (Ruth) Neppl of Marion, James (Carol) Neppl of Winona, Minnesota, Robert (Linda) Neppl of Spencer, Richard (Rochelle) Neppl of Alexandria, South Dakota, Scott (Joni) Neppl of Lake Park, and Marcus (Janet) Neppl of Spirit Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Amber Carter in 2009.
