Ronald Clifford Maxson

Ronald Clifford Maxson, 74, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at his home. He was born on July 16, 1948, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Donald and Dorothy (McNabb) Maxson. Ron was raised and educated in Bakersfield. He then graduated from the University of California-Berkley with his Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design.

On February 14, 2000, Ron was united in marriage to Susan Scott in Questa, New Mexico. The family moved to Arkansas and eventually moved to Iowa, settling in Strawberry Point in 2013. Ron loved to read James Patterson books and watching tv, especially cooking, crime, and car shows.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Maxson of Strawberry Point; six children, Spencer (Lisa) Davies of Talkeetna, Alaska, Jeremy (Joanne) Bouse of Kissimmee, Florida, Niels Bouse of Stoneham, Colorado, Jenny Bouse of Dyersville, Iowa, John (Alisha) Bouse of Stoneham, Colorado, and Makayla Bouse of Strawberry Point; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Robert) Lane and Kimberley Palmer all of Bakersfield, California; one brother, Michael Maxson of Bakersfield, California; an aunt, Mary Craig of Strawberry Point; and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Dorothy and Leonard Palmer; and his father, Donald Maxson.
