Rose Ann Reilly, 87, of Ryan, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 13, 1937, in Independence, and adopted as an infant by Anna E. Supple. Rose Ann attended school in Buck Creek, later graduating from St. Patrick Catholic High School in Ryan. She attended the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota.
On April 24, 1957, Rose Ann was united in marriage to Thomas “Tommy” Reilly at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ryan. Eight children were born to this union. Rose Ann was a wonderful wife and mother and helped Tommy on the farm in the Ryan area. Rose Ann and Tommy wintered in Mission, Texas.
Rose Ann was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a very proud member of her community and church. She was always the “Hostess with the Mostest” and loved feeding and entertaining her friends and family. Rose Ann was happiest sitting on her porch chatting with friends over coffee and saying hello to all going by. She never met an animal she didn’t like, especially cats, who always seemed to find their way to her.
Survivors include her children, Tim (Lori) Reilly of Delhi, son-in-law, Terry Ryan of Ryan, Terry (Carla) Reilly of Marion, Ted (Kristi) Reilly of Ryan, Tom Reilly of Ryan, and Tully (Chris) Reilly of Ryan, Laina Reilly (Martha Stewart) of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Leah (Brian) Mensen of Red Oak; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her two cats, Ronnie Dean and Beansie Arlene.
Rose Ann was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Reilly, and her daughter, Lynne Ryan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Above and Beyond Hospice, Monticello, Iowa.
