Rosella May (Heisz) Coleman

Rosella May Coleman, 89, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at her home. She was born on April 26, 1934, in Seneca, Wisconsin, the daughter of Julius and Opal (Puckett) Heisz. Rosella was raised and educated in the Crawford County area, attending Pine Creek Gardner and White rural schools, and Boscobel High School.

On July 25, 1951, Rosella was united in marriage to Ronald Coleman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. This union was blessed with four children. Together they lived in Wisconsin and Iowa over the years. The past 28 years Rosella has resided in Strawberry Point. Through the years Rosella worked as a waitress in restaurants and supper clubs. In later years she sold insurance and did in-home health care, which she really enjoyed.

In retirement Rosella enjoyed baking, watching tv and showtunes. She knitted blankets for every member of her family and enjoyed sewing. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church and the Lions Club. Rosella most enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her three children, Dick (Linda) Coleman of Mount Hope, Wisconsin, Pamela (Carl) Wissbaum of Muscoda, Wisconsin, and Randal (Madelyn) Coleman of Strawberry Point; a daughter-in law, Mary (Bill) Emler of La Crosse, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Pretty Girl.  

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Coleman in 2014; her son, Timothy Coleman in 1979; a great-grandson, Zackery Rider; and four siblings, George Heisz, Beverly (Casey) Zelanak, Marlene (Don) Klug and Carol (Edward) Eggers.
