Russell Edward Clute, 61, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown. He was born in Iowa City on September 4, 1962, the son of Roger Clute and Luetta (Holthaus) Clute. He completed 12 years of special education and lived at the Howard Street Home for 30 years.
Russell was a happy, fun loving guy whose family loved and supported him through his many struggles in life. He rewarded them with smiles, loving hugs and endless entertainment!
He enjoyed listening to country music, watching action-adventure movies, celebrating his birthday at Pizza Hut and dancing whenever he got a chance. He absolutely loved pizza, Pepsi, Orange Crush, Dairy Queen strawberry shakes, Hershey bars, and spending weekends with his mom and other family members. Russell loved perusing his vast collection of CD’s and DVDs. He was very proud of the collection.
Survivors include his mother, Luetta Clute of Manchester; his eight siblings, Roxanna Watters of Alpharetta, Georgia, Carol (John) Begley of Marion, Kelly Clute of Center Point, Charles Clute of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jerry (Kari) Clute of Homosassa, Florida, John (Debra) Clute of Ames, Mary (Tom) Heller of Alto, Michigan, Patricia Clute of Manchester; sister-in-law, Diane Clute of Aurora, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his father, Roger Clute, and his brother Ron Clute.
The family would like to whole-heartedly thank all of Russell’s caregivers at the Howard Street Home, especially Candi Weaver, his favorite, and at Accura Healthcare of Marshalltown for doing such a wonderful job.
