Thomas Lynn Farr

Thomas L. Farr, Sr. ("Turtle"), born January 27, 1951, passed away at the age of 74 in the home of his grandson TJ (Travis) in Strawberry Point, on the evening of September 20, 2025. He was born in Cedar Rapids to June Longerbeam at Mercy Hospital and raised by her and Sam Kessler who preceded him in death.

Tom lived most of his life in Cedar Rapids, minus a short period when he was in Arizona; meeting his late wife, Peggy Clegg. They married in Nevada in 1984, then later moved back to Cedar Rapids, where they lived for 30 years. Together they fished at Lake McBride and raised numerous pets like Cinder, Peaches, Pippen, Buttercup, and Abby. Tom and Peggy parted ways in 2014 as Peggy Farr also preceded him in death.

His living survivors and legacy consists of his sons, Chris Farr and child of Texas and Tommy (Lisa) Farr and children of Arkansas; as well as his daughters, Shawna Cowen (Brad) and Tina (Dwayne) Thompson of Iowa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Travis (Jessica) Terrell of Iowa, Warrant Officer Kobi (Megan) Cowen of California, Beau (Dani) Kotschwar of South Dakota, Brent Webber (Tori) of Iowa, Katrina Webber of Iowa, and Billie Harney of North Carolina; along with countless great-grandchildren.
