Timothy Bruce Smouse, 71, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2024, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester due to numerous health issues. He had the will to go on, but his body said, “no more”. He was born on January 15, 1954, in Manning, Iowa, the son of Charles and Marlene (Olson) Smouse. Tim grew up in Scranton, Iowa, and was a 1972 graduate of Scranton High School.
Tim owned and operated a construction company in Scranton for many years. Later, he moved to Delhi, Iowa, where he had various jobs. Tim enjoyed boating, fishing, and living on the lake. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his two sisters, Jeanette McGreevy of Madison, South Dakota, and Nancy (Randy) Calvert of St. Charles, Iowa; two nephews, Colton (Lauren) Calvert and baby, Cooper, and Ethan (Mikayla) Calvert; and many friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, and a stillborn brother, Scott.
Tim’s family would like to thank the University of Iowa Hospital staff and the Good Neighbor Home staff for all their compassionate care given to him over the years. A special thank you goes to Amy Fry for her superior problem-solving, endless compassion, and positive spirit.
Tim’s final wish was to donate his body to the University of Iowa Hospital Deeded Body Program to help with medical education and research. What a wonderful gift to give!
