Wilbur Fay Beck

Wilbur Fay Beck, 91, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Wilbur was born on March 28, 1931, in Watalula, Arkansas, the son of Norman and Clara (Knight) Beck. The family then moved to Iowa and he was raised in the Waterloo area.

On October 11, 1948, Wilbur was united in marriage to Barbara Huntbach in Hernando, Mississippi. Wilbur worked for 33 years at the Rath Packing Company as an electrician.

Wilbur enjoyed spending time with his family and wildlife. That was his happy place.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Barb Beck of Manchester; four children, Linda (Jack) Schaffer, Robert Beck, Pat (Bean) Helmrichs, and Cindy (Tom) Beck all of Manchester; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gelene Ellsberry and Imogene Wells; and great-grandson, Zayden Weaver.
