Gene Robbins

Gene Robbins, 76, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at his home.  He was born on September 28, 1939, in Mederville, the son of Vernon and Maxine (Nading) Robbins. Gene was raised and educated in the area.

On March 31, 1962, Gene was united in marriage to Sandra Wistrick in Strawberry Point.  Four children were born to this union. Sandra passed away in 2009. 

Gene worked as a carpenter for a short time.  He worked at Iowa Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids and then for Energy Manufacturing in Monticello for 20 years. 

Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.  He especially liked spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his four children, Roxanne (significant other, Mike Franck) Greve of Central City, Luanne Ventura of Manchester, Suzanne Letts of Dubuque, and Randy (Elena) Robbins of Nevada; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ardola (Ronald) Maser of Oelwein, Merna (Vance) Gregerson of Cedar Rapids, Gary (Kim) Robbins of Mallard, Carol Marshall of Tomah, Wisconsin, and Jerry (Linda) Robbins of Boscobel, Wisconsin.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sandra; one grandson, Robert Robbins; two brothers, Dale and Lavern Robbins; and one sister, Lola Jane Robbins, in infancy.
