Edward Nils Thompson, Jr.

Edward Nils Thompson, Jr., 51, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.  He was born on April 12, 1966, in Saddlebrook, New Jersey, the son of Edward Thompson, Sr. While growing up, Ed was close to his grandparents, Florence and George Thompson.

When he was a young man, Ed moved to Florida with his family.  With the birth of his son, Brock, Ed then moved to and made his home in Manchester. Ed owned and operated Ed’s Lawn Care and Snow Removal for many years.  He enjoyed working on home projects and being outdoors. Ed also enjoyed motorcycles and cars.  Most of all he cherished spending time with his son Brock. 

Survivors include his son, Brock Thompson of Cedar Rapids; and one sister, Cathy Deditch of Ocala, Florida.

Ed was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and George Thompson; and his brother, Tommy Thompson.
